Funding - Currently Funded Projects |

Since 2002, the CEC, incorporating Westernport Landcare Network, has received funding in excess of $3M dollars, all directed back into environmental on-ground works, awareness building, and educational forums. The CEC receives its income from a range of sources including local, State and Australian government funding, corporate sponsors and returns from its social enterprises. It also operates the Biolinks Environment Fund which is a tax deductible public fund listed on the Register of Environmental Organisations. At any given time we have specifically funded projects. These projects contribute to environmental and community outcomes and include; on ground works such as revegetation, protection of remnant vegetation, Landcare and community Field days and other environmentally focused events. Some current projects include Healthy Soils: this project, funded by PPWCMA, provides information to farmers on soil carbon and soil acidification and how these are affected by farm management practices. DAFF Landcare Facilitator: this project, funded by PPWCMA, also provides information to farmers on landcare practices. The Land Stewardship project from VIF: this project, funded by PPWCMA which facilitates farmers caring for their properties through provision of seeds, plants and fencing, as well as education and pest control. Spirit of the Bunyip is a project funded by Bunyip CMA which provided seeds, plants and fencing to farmers to improve the habitat areas of their farms. Red Energy has funded the Cardinia Creek Biolinks Project. This involves working with property owners, community/Landcare groups, Government agencies and others), with the aim to create a “Biolink” along the Cardinia creek; linking past, present and future revegetation/planting sites and patches of remnant vegetation along its length. |
