Guys Hill Reserve is a linear reserve along the Cardinia Creek. The plant communities in the reserve are Riparian Forest and Swampy Riparian Woodland. There are some spectacular old trees in the reserve, providing important habitat for native animals that need tree hollows to survive.

Feral deer and foxes continue to theaten the native plants and animals that call this reserve home. Invasion of weeds is also threatening the plant communities of this reserve. Through the Peri-urban Weed Management Partnerships Project, funded by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, we have been able to control weeds in the reserve consistently for a number of years. A lot of work has been done to remove environmental weeds in the reserve, which has allowed the native plants to flourish and improved the habitat for native animals. We need to keep a close eye on the weed invasion though, as birds, foxes and wind continue to bring weed seeds in from the wider landscape.
